Something olde, something new. Something borrowed, something blue.
and a SIXPENCE in her shoe.

Honest-to-goodness SIXPENCE pieces from nearly 200 years ago, and up. The British stopped making this coin in 1971. Prior to this the English system ran 12 pence to the shilling, and 20 shillings to the pound. Now it's a straight 100 pence (pennys) to the pound Sterling. For the traditionalist (and who isn't when it comes to weddings?) here's an opportunity to own a little bit of history you can keep forever or pass on to your children for their weddings. Comes with a ribbon 'pence fob' into which you tuck the coin, then insert the ribbon in the shoe. Per custom, the father of the bride, or whoever puts on the garter, retrieves the sixpence and returns it to the bride later. All coins come with a ribbon pocket which tucks into the shoe leaving just the coin in its 'pocket' outside (usually on the inside of the right shoe) for comfort.
